September has been another good month for Vietnamese investors. September is also traditionally a strong month in terms of paid dividends and this year was no different. In average, almost a third of the annual dividends are paid in September. On the economic side, Gross domestic product rose 7.46% in the third quarter from a year earlier, compared with a revised 6.28% in the previous three months, the General Statistics Office said in Hanoi on Friday. This strong growth has eased pressure on Vietnam's officials to add more stimulus to meet the target of 6.7% economic expansion this year. Over the month, Hanoi index is up by 3.6% and Ho Chi Minh index is up by 2.8%. Our reference portfolio recorded a 0.5% monthly gain. Anh Thomas returns over the long run are still impressive. Since being launched, Anh Thomas portfolio overall return is +302.6%, greatly outperforming both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh indexes (+56.0% and +102.1% respectively).
