Vietnam is still viewed as a Frontier market and is classified as such by Morgan Stanley Capital International. The country is however expected to enter the MSCI Emerging index within the next three to five years. This is only a classification, but this is a highly regarded one by many institutional investors. The upgrade is likely to take Vietnam into a new financial stage of development. Investors who have invested prior to this upgrade will be the big winners when this happens.
